How it works
Coaching
One to one alcohol-free coaching online, for anyone questioning their relationship with alcohol. It always starts with a few short questions and a free initial conversation.
The route
Four steps, no pressure at any of them.
You're in charge the whole way. If at any point it doesn't feel right, you stop. Simple as that.
Step 1
Start here
Answer a few short questions about where you're at. It takes a few minutes and there are no wrong answers.
Step 2
Initial conversation
Mark gets in touch to arrange a free, relaxed call. You tell him where you're at, he explains how he works, and you see if it's a good fit.
Step 3
Start coaching
If it feels right, you set realistic goals together, built around what you want and how your week really looks.
Step 4
Keep going
Regular online sessions, honest check ins and accountability while you reflect on progress and new habits settle in.

What to expect
Coaching that fits around your life.
Sessions are one to one on a video call. Coaching isn't about Mark giving you the answers. It's about helping you find your own: looking honestly at your drinking, working out what your ideal lifestyle looks like, setting goals that mean something to you, tracking your progress and building the accountability to stick with it. It's practical and goal-focused, much like coaching in sport. Mark will walk you through packages and prices on your initial conversation.
Online
Video sessions from home, the car or wherever feels right.
Private
Nothing you share goes any further. No referrals needed.
Non judgemental
You'll be met as a person, never as a problem.
Built around you
Your goals, your pace, your life. Not a one size plan.
What we work on
The things that actually make a difference.

Finding your why
Looking honestly at your drinking now, getting clear on what you want to change, and finding your own reasons.
Where we start
Evenings and weekends
The moments when one drink turns into several. We plan for them so the old habit has less room to move.
Real life plans
Triggers and habits
Spotting what sets off a drink and building something better in its place.
Know your patterns
Social life, alcohol free
Parties, pubs, work dos and the friends who ask why you're not drinking.
Confidence back
Sleep, energy and fitness
Noticing the changes you care about, reflecting on progress and keeping that momentum going.
Feel the differenceIs coaching right for you?
Coaching works best before things get serious.
You don't need to work in the emergency services, and you don't need to call yourself anything. But coaching has limits, and it's important to be honest about them.
Coaching could be a good fit if
- You're questioning your drinking, or more aware of how much you drink
- Drinking is getting in the way of your energy, sleep, fitness, weight or mood
- One drink often turns into several and you'd like more control
- You're curious about drinking less, taking a break or stopping
- You want structure, support and someone to keep you accountable
Coaching isn't the right support for
- Alcohol dependence, or if you might be physically dependent on alcohol
- Withdrawal symptoms when you stop or cut down, or needing a supervised detox
- Treatment for alcohol addiction
- A crisis, or anyone who needs urgent, clinical or emergency care
If any of these apply, please speak to your GP, call NHS 111 or contact a specialist alcohol service first. In an emergency, call 999.
A quick look first
Take your own obs.
A quick, private look at your drinking, using the three questions from AUDIT-C, a widely used alcohol questionnaire. Something to reflect on, not a diagnosis.
Private. Your answers never leave this page and nothing is stored.
Question 1 of 3
How often do you have a drink containing alcohol?
Questions
The things people ask first.
Coaching, not medical care
The Sober Medic provides coaching, not medical treatment, diagnosis or therapy. If you are physically dependent on alcohol, having withdrawal symptoms or need urgent medical support, please contact your GP, NHS 111, emergency services or a specialist alcohol service. If you drink heavily every day, please don't stop suddenly on your own, because alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous.
- Emergency999 if someone is in danger or seriously unwell

Day one starts with a conversation.
You don't need to have it all worked out. You just need to say hello.
